Yup, another "Day of Infamy" as we depart in our helicopters leaving our Afghan interpreters to their fate
just like in Saigon. Not the best way to build trust among any would-be future helpers I'd say.
The Taiwanese will no doubt suffer a similar fate when China comes calling ready to absorb them, because
Biden is not going to hear their cries for help. Probably for the best actually, for if we did interfere we'd
probably get are arse kicked what with China getting stronger while we get weaker with Woke lunatics
running the Country and our Generals teaching Critical Race Theory to our boys and pregnant girls in uniform.
My real tears are for the young Afghan women who will suffer sexual brutality at the hands of Taliban thugs.

I had hopes of eliciting an intelligent response. Silly me, I should have known better.

Lemme ask this, 'Tag. When U.K. went into Malaya in the '50s, how much influence did the camp followers have? Was the civilian (commercial) component X times the military?
Banksters, fast food joints, retailers, etc? My understanding MoD identified who needed removing, did so and left a corps of advisors. You didn't try to change the place. We tried to fast forward a culture (I'm being kind) a millennium when 85% of the recipients are happy living in the 14th century, savoring their goats and dancing boys. In another perspective, we go ballistic here in the sticks when someone move$$ in $aying 'this is how we did it (in the place I fled)'. We shoulda killed all the bad guys, told the Pakis to control the border because 'our bombs always hit the ground but where is a good question' and left a small advisory group.

Good points, but the Pakis barely control the people on their side of the border. ISI basically aimed them at Afghanistan to keep them busy.

Now DT.... did you say ....My real tears are for the young Afghan women who will suffer sexual brutality at the hands of Taliban thugs. ....?

You do of course realize they're Muslims and hardly worth a tear from anyone here right ? Not to mention we didn't actually go there to help them, we invaded because we were told they harbored our enemies that had done us harm . You know ... kind of like Iraq where we invaded an enemy nation and three months later it was renamed "Operation Iraqi Freedom" .... like we wanted be good guys or something.

Funny you would have tears for those Muslim women of an enemy nation when our own neighbors suffering a similar plight show up at our borders and its an immediate " Eff Em "

Donald Trump promised to do this very same thing and yank the troops ..... sorry, he couldn't have done it any differently . And you wouldn't have even mentioned it if he had .

Watch the movie again ... Charlie Wilsons War .... Charlie Wilson was quite correct when he said.... " We just never get it right "
