Kim Jon Un will Never give up his nukes ...

He'd give up everything else including his limbs before giving up his nukes.
Can't say I blame him considering that a succession of American Presidents
have tried pressuring him with sanctions in order to wrest his toys from him.
    With his nukes he's King.
    Without them he's Court Jester.
    I say let him be.

The problem is when he uses them for extortion.

Kim wants us very much to care about his nukes. Ideally we would find a way to get the Russians and Chinese to care about them more than us, but so far easier said than done.

      Who is he extorting ?
The Chinese and Russians love having him be a thorn in our side.

When you add Iran to those above it makes for a powerful bunch of enemies

He wants to spook us out of the ROK so he has a free hand to try to unify the island. They'd start by psy-ops to destabilize the south, exacerbating political divisions. Then start something that their fellow communists (Red China) decide to help them finish. With Uncle Sam there this is a risky gambit.

You are right to think we are best off getting to a place where his missiles can't hurt us and his threats are empty. But no mistake the Kims' think they can out-crazy the best of them.

Winter is coming. He needs his gouda cheese.

When I was in 'Nam, the South Korean soldiers didn't mess around! They didn't need permission to fire on armed VC or North Vietnam soldiers!

I worked with the White Horse Division of the ROK's in Vietnam, they had no problems lighting up most anything and I had no problem helping them light things up.

There were no ROKS around where I was in Northern I Corps on my second tour. But on my first tour in III Corps, they held Tai Kwan Do matches, and we all got involved,
