we began killing each other. One Village would raid their neighbor and abduct their Women,
Then it was for Land, treasure or maybe just for the thrill of it. Whatever, it's never
stopped since. How long since Hunter Gatherer times ? couple of hundred thousand years ?
At the start you probably couldn't kill too many with a rock or a animal's thigh bone, but
you could kill more with arrows, and it was safer as you could do your killing from a distance.
Then Swords, then guns. Then better guns, then Tanks, bombs dropped from Planes. Ships,
Nukes, bigger Nukes. Yeah, we've refined it down to a fine art. So fine in fact that it could
well send us back to being Hunter Gatherers.

One of the wrinkles is that when we built this civilization we yanked all of the easily-got resources out of the ground. So if we send future generations back to square one they may have no choice but to stay there. Countless generations, reaching age 30 at the max.

Someone once posed the question, if you could pick any TIME to live, but couldn't pick the location, or the life, how would you choose? And for all the problems today, would a randomly-assigned life in the past likely be better?
