Do the authorities have special Government issued tape measures ? ...

We just had a huge rain storm and they say it measured between five and seven inches.
Now I left a large bucket on the deck and it was not only full, it wasoverflowing.
That's fifteen inched plus who knows how much more overflowed.
Also as a result of the storm everything is wet - I mean really wet,
yet they say the threat of fire is still with us.
When we have a dry winter they say low growth is very dry so bad regards the fire threat.
When we have a wet winter they say it's bad because of the excess plant growth.
There seems no way we win. I just wish they'd just shut the ef up.
    They're just control freaks.

rain and storms are a funny thing,

our official weather site is usually the Airport,

yet one storm cell a couple summer ago dropped 3 times that number in the part of the county I live in and just west,
flooded a lot of roads, and messed up a water treatment plant near me,

and don't forget the weather people,, supposedly knee deep in water and they are actually on their knees in the water

Weather in my back yard trumps 6 -10 o'clock news. 110? at airport is 115? to 117? on my patio in Phoenix. Don't worry much about rain; thankful for any and all.

For years we had micro burst that blew down fence walls, telephone poles, and roofs. Once I had my neighbor's, behind me, on my pool. Took 23 hal of clorene before it would clear alowomg me to see the bottom to clear out. Three times there were tornados the weather service disavowed, but people now have cell phones with cameras so the truth will out, the local news will show weather service up
