What's Poopypants Joe's real reason for destroying our oil industry ? ...

He maintains it's to cut carbon emissions and save the Planet.
But if that's the case why ask the Saudies and Russia to produce
more of this so-called pollutant ? It makes no sense, not that
Poopy has any of that rare commodity, but even an idiot like him
can't fail to see the ridiculousness of the idea. Or am I giving
    him too much credit ?
Is it merely to stick his thumb in Trump's eye ?

It's an actual rumor. That means don't take it seriously.

Sleepy oe has one agenda other than erasing all that Trump did;and that is to sleep with China! All he talks is wind mills, solar panels and electric vehicles. China controls the ingredients for batteries and we all know solar and wind won't cut it as in producing electricity for the masses. He said (lied) about how many jobs he has already created (2 million) when in fact it was less than 200,000. But, he says, solar and wind will make millions of "good paying" jobs! Union jobs no less! Phooee!! Never happen! Mean while China is building more and more coal fired electrical producing plants!

I know some here steadfastly believe the earth is flat--on a par at this point with denying climate change--but the future is coming, on schedule.

Hydrocarbons will not disappear as a chemical feedstock and fuel in some applications but we've know since the 70's (those of us old enough to remember) that we need to switch to something else eventually. Climate change just a fresh reminder of the urgency.

Pity the nuclear industry in this country is in such a sorry state. Decades of "cost plus" operations has given us a sclerotic construction sector that drives up costs to the point that wind/solar provide better $/Watt value over the full plant life cycle, from construction through decommissioning. So just when it would be super helpful to have carbon-free nuclear power we're moving away from it.

Super interesting (to me at least)

In brief An MIT team has revealed why, in the field of nuclear power, experience with a given technology doesn’t always lower costs. When it comes to building a nuclear power plant in the United States—even of a well-known design—the total bill is often three times as high as expected. Using a new analytical approach,… Read more

China, India and Russia have no intention of ruining their economies by
adopting these hair-brained schemes of using windmills instead of coal.
We know what Don Quixote thought of windmills. He didn't know about
solar for if he had he would have attacked them too.

                earth is round,
                dogtag is right

and climate change happens every day, despite the BS spouted by Gore, Kerry and Greta
