Thieves made off with $20,000 of merch from California Apple store

The latest in a series of lootings across California. Apparently the grab and run is catching on!

Thieves made off with $20,000 of merch from California Apple store in BROAD DAYLIGHT robbery: Store is latest to be ransacked as LA and Bay Area suffer string of lootings

The incident took place at an Apple store in Santa Rosa Plaza, about an hour from San Francisco, on Wednesday morning

Four young men, believed by police to between the ages of 14 and 18, entered and grabbed the merch before fleeing

A detective from the Santa Rosa Police Department said they weren?t notified about the theft until 10 minutes after due to an Apple in-house protocol

The latest string of robberies in The Golden State started last Friday in San Francisco and are ratcheting up as the holiday shopping season is coming

I assume the Apple in-house protocol to wait 10 minutes before calling the police is some BS based in ensuring the safety of customers and staff. They might as well as post the following on the door: "Attention thieves, please be safe. No need to run out the door after stealing our inventory. Don't endanger yourself by speeding fast in your get away car. We will wait a full 10 minutes before calling the police to ensure your safe escape. Have a nice day!"

TV crew reporting on smash-and-grab raid in California are attacked by robbers who shot their security guard while trying to steal camera equipment

Masked and hooded thugs targeted a news team for their camera equipment

During the raid in Oakland, the team's security guard was shot in the abdomen

He was taken to Highland Hospital for surgery and is now in a stable condition

A $25,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of those involved

Well, so much for liberal ideas on crime, economics and energy.

That security guard-a retired LEO-has died. CCW extremely hard to get in California. In Pennsylvania there was just an incident where thieves attacked an Ueber driver, Pennsylvania has a "shall issue" CCW law.In another incident a thief tried to hold up a Verizon store-same thing.

Except for hoodies and thongs just about everything in an Apple store could be neutered online. No point in creating a potential situation.
