    "He Had No Non-lethal Options"

So says the lawyer for a Tuscon cop fired for killing a guy in a motorized wheelchair with 9 shots from his duty sidearm.

If the lawyer's statement is true, it goes to the heart of how brain-dead SOME police are in this country when it comes to problem-solving. Brave heroes? Sure, sometimes. But give them a problem that they don't know how to solve, and they start shooting? Ridiculous.

So let's break it down. He's in a motorized wheelchair, he's old, he has a knife, and he's grumpy as hell. Can't leave him be but his two-second radius with that knife is pretty small. So tell the store manager to fetch a 20' x 24' tarp off the shelves and just throw it over the guy.

Or use pepper spray & call for reinforcements.

But discharging his weapon like that? If any of us "citizens" protected the public like that we'd be charged for sure.

Ray thinks I'm anti-cop. Actually Ray I'm anti-stupid with no LEO exemptions granted.

I would conclude that a man in a wheelchair armed with a knife is really no immediate threat to no one but himself!

I would wait until it goes to the jury before drawing conclusions.

        Amazing.
