The sanctions must be hurting, but expensive oil isn't.

Sounds like Europe has a problem.

I wonder what 'Ol Joe would do? On one hand he is faced with Putin (who thinks Biden is a joke) and on the other hand; if the Russkies take over Ukraine, then Hunter will lose his "job" there! Putin ain't gonna take no sh!t from Joe or the pussy Kerry!

All depends on if the Ukranians put up a stiff fight or not.

Like I said earlier, they might attack simultainiously (sp?)
            China Taiwan, Russia Ukraine.
If we interfere we'll probably come out on the wrong end of the stick.
Don't forget, we're about to sack our Troops because they refuse the jab.
Now that tactic will certainly confuse the enemy.

https://www.rferl.org/a/the-destruct.../29699706.html To be fair I will give my opinion that some will dissect , we made the deal to protect them and now is the time to tell the russians that they also signed the agreement so when and if they make a move we need to jump in both feet . America pokes their noses into world affairs and that is on us . Really Crimea was the first encroachment and the world stood by and did nothing .

It's one thing to have ICBMs. It's another to keep them operational year after year, especially when they're Russian built, which means the maintenance never ends.

It is like if the US invaded Cuba. If the Cubans put up a stiff fight? it might take 3 days instead of 2.

The difference is the US is not a imperialist country. Every dictator run, Socialist/Communist country that has existed? is/were imperialists.

China is trying expand into the Atlantic. The US has done the opposite.

We would own Canada, Mexico, Cuba, and Japan and a lot of Europe if the Socialist/Communist/Democrats had their way.

Another lead balloon. The maintenance on everything never ends.

You miss the point. It's one thing for the ex Soviet and ex Warsaw Pact states to keep their Soviet era AFVs running order. Even fighter jets. Quite another to keep the ICBMs safe, secure, operational, to have command/control that can be trusted.

The war in eastern Ukraine has been running 8 years now. So yeah, how the 40M Ukrainians fight makes a difference.

Global retrenchment began in the previous US administration. China got rich in part because they stopped shooting themselves in the foot and in part because the US foolishly let it happen. The cold war ended and we lost our focus. Liberalism allowed itself to grow soft, Conservatism allowed itself to grow stupid. That's where we are now.

Is it easier for a soft man to toughen up or a stupid man to grow wise?

If we take on Russia on their terms and on what they figure is their real estate,
                          we'll get our arse kicked.

                            We could always play "WWTD?"

But Biden is an old Cold Warrior in a way that the previous two occupants of the office were not. And we did win the Cold War. We pissed away the victory to be sure but nonetheless it was fairly won.

I've plenty of stories-from people who were there-on how maintenance on our missiles, etc. was conducted via the M-1 pencil so somebody could look good and impress his superiors.
One news story said the Russians have amassed 100,000 troops on the border. Which is not a lot IMHO. Grant started the Overland Campaign of 1864 with over 100,000 troops. Sabre rattling and waiting for someone to blink.
