a very good friend spent a few weeks in Africa on a mission trip,
part of the pre trip prep was the usual, shots, vaccines etc etc, and a short lecture on what to watch out for

he figured, as far as non human threats, loins, etc would be the ones to look out for, ,
nope,

since the village he was going to (helped build a school ) was on Lake Victoria, the biggest threat was the hippo,

he had no idea, ,

hippo's apparently kill more people than anything else there
