    SF Mayor Cracking Down

Attached screen shot from the NY Times comments section. Provides a window into the thinking of the 'other side' that many here never ever see.

Get some of those really big scoop shovels. So the posters are saying: we have to do something a little sensible for a little while so the Republicans don't win. Bad math.

That's not all they're saying. Lots of comments about "enough is enough".

      Believe it or not.

I did see that. Forty years of lackness, and now let's do something. It's still no way to run a ship. You can't put tens of thousands in mental institutions it seems. But you can't just let them wander around sleeping and puking on the sidewalk. And in this Golden land of ours they get to steal as much as they see fit. Probably killed another thread.

So the city is going to provide shelter, counseling, and medical care to the druggies?

Little mention about enforcing laws that would get illegal drug pushers off the streets. Enforcing the law is out of the question as far as the National/Socialist/Democrats are concerned.

Actually I think she's sending the cops in, old school.

The problem for SF is the mild climate. It attracts an element still drawn to the hippie vibe of 50 years ago.

And of course the mentally ill in this country have more rights than anyone else. Law of the land is that the rest of us just have to feed their delusions.

SF's Great Awakening should be that the 1960's are long over and it's past time for that element to go somewhere else. Texas maybe, or Arizona, both places with mild winter climates.

There's loads of room in the Mohave desert. We have plenty in AZ. It's weird; you don't see the homeless much when it's 110. They have to stay close to the watering hole in Phx. Bbut when the weather gets nice about this time of year they are wandering all over.

I was in San Fransisco recently. Temps were in the 30s. We saw very few homeless folks, fewer than Little Rock, AR it seemed.
Still, far too many people, too close together for me.
Overall, I saw an old city, in decline.... sad really.

Most cities in decline have only themselves to blame.
