In year 1 Biden has put 40 judges on the Federal bench, compared to 19 for the previous occupant of the office. Worth pointing that out since Conservatives and Liberals both have come to lean heavily--too heavily in my opinion--on what judges say.

Better would to be to have Congress do its job and judges rule on individual cases instead of writing new law with their rulings. But because Congress is stuck, judges feel emboldened.

Better? Yes. Of course. Problem is, Very hard to stop activists judges from acting to advance their own particular social/political agenda. It's like trying to un-ring a bell. Sincerely. bruce.

Well no judge wants to be ignored, and that can happen if rulings bite off too much. Also no judge wants to have Congress explicitly write law to vacate his ruling. But Congress is a long ways from that these days. And the judicial activists are most active on the right at present.
