    What is a riot? defined

The Jan 6 debacle was a riot, not a coup attempt. No planning, no single objective, just a bunch of weird nuts acting out their fantasies.

    What is a riot?

(Quote) marked by tumult : loud, excited, and emotional?

A tumultuous disturbance of the public peace by three or more persons assembled together (Quote)

Nowhere does it indicate an organized rebellion, a coup to overturn, or a collusion to do so.

But here comes the Communist/Socialist/National/Democrat party showing their stupidity calling it a Trump organized coup.

Lets go Brandon, should be replaced with Dumb as a Democrat.

    Yeah, another failure for sure.

The Dims hold the riot close to their hearts as the worst thing that has ever happened in Washington D.C. (of course besides slo joe). The 1954 shooting in the house of representatives was just some angry Puerto Ricans venting their anger.

Hispanics shoot each other all the time. It's been one yr. so it's still hot. How thirty or forty rioters didn't get shot amazes me. But no one was shooting, and this is the crazy country where everyone gets to have a gun.

Trump told his people to march down to the capital and fight like hell , the objective being to stop Pence from certifying the election and he was the intended beneficiary of such action . It's a failed coup by a guy that has a problem with losing .

Which has turned out worse, rioters in the U.S. Capitol or Biden in the White House? 13 killed in the disastrous Afghanistan debacle and 1 killed in the Capitol riots, a female military veteran killed by a goof ball capitol security guard for no reason. Capitol cleaned up in a few days, U.S. citizen still trying to get out of Afghanistan.

Think how many will be killed using the billions of dollars of high tech/secret weapons biden gave the taliban.

OK, since no one else has asked, why do so many here refer to Jan 6th as a riot? No one broke and entered, they were let in by the capitol police. They didn't kill or harm anyone though one of them was killed unarmed. No property was destroyed that I've heard of. They merely stressed their views as they represented millions of Americans.

                  Protest are legal.

Trump's plan seems obvious enough, even if it failed. I mean, sometimes plans fail, like the elaborate one the Japanese had at Midway. They got hammered! But they still had a plan.

The plan hatched in Trumpworld was to sow enough chaos at the Capitol on January 6 to see if they could get the results kicked over to Plan B, with House votes, state legislatures, etc.

Presentation claims that China ‘systematically gained control over our election system constituting a national security emergency’

But for this alternative path to work they were going to have to get a lot of officials willing to lie publicly about what was going on. And there were a great many in Trump's cohort who were willing to do that. But not enough, and not in the positions that matter.

Anyone who doesn't think this is a serious business is fooling themselves and/or secretly hoping the next one succeeds. Either way I wouldn't trust them at all.

I must say you are wickedly uninformed on this subject. My kids would in fact laugh at your lack of awareness, and they all are young and have much better things than pay attention to politics on their to-do lists.

Nonetheless better late than never as they say, and also a person is never too old to learn.

What was damaged? Did a trash can get knocked over or something?

Remember, everything in the capitol building belongs to the tax payers. Politicians are assigned desk, chairs, computers, phones and such to use but they do not own them.

Compare that to the ones rioting in the BLM riots throwing bricks through windows of businesses. Their ego's were writing checks their worths could not cash.

What Trump told his people was:

                              [quote]
I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.[quote]

When he said fight he was talking about using their 5th Amendment rights to peacefully and patriotically oppose the largest theft and robbery in all of history.

There was 2-400 thosand people in DC that day. 2-4 hundred of those present didn?t do as Trump asked but as many as 399,600 did.
