Hopefully she will weather covid just fine. Likely will not have such a severe infection as she is almost certainly vaccinated, etc. That very greatly mitigates the effect of the virus regardless of which variant is involved. The overwhelming vast majority of persons who are severely affected by the virus are unvaccinated and dealing with conditions that make them especially vulnerable. I doubt she was electioneering, video evidence shows "Cutie-Cortez" partying down in the Sunshine State, Adam Schiff was down there last week for the same reason, a good time in a "Free State."

Florida is trending more Republican from a "red purple state" to an increasingly red state. This year for the first time ever the number of registered Republicans in Florida outnumbered registered Democrats. In the last election Biden won the Latino vote in Florida 52% to 47% and Miami elected a Republican mayor. The Dems can't win in Florida in that scenario. You're right though, the Dems have to have Florida to win nationally.

In Texas "Gov Grabbit" started his campaign in McAllen, deep in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley. Republicans campaigning hard in the heavily Latino Valley isn't new, kicking off an "R" governor's campaign is.
