Now the US military is preaching Socialism to troops

The Department of Defense?s National Defense University (NDU), the premier education institution for military and defense civilian leaders, is planning to host a lecture on how Western countries should adopt socialism in response to the challenge from China.
    ?????-////////..,,,,??

The above is a cut and paste.

What is illegible about the US government paying for speakers telling our military we should adopt a dictatorial Socialist system.

(National Defense University hosts speaker arguing 'democratic socialism' is answer to China threat)

OK, I'm not up on a lot of geopolitical. Is China a threat? I guess if anyone is, it would be China. Well, and Russia (sort of). And South America (the real South America). And goes without saying, the regular south america. And how do we meet that threat? Follow their lead. Well, we kind of are, but with distinctions. You can't hurt anyone, you can't starve anyone, you can't put people in jail for just stealing a little. So ragamuffins steal $950 dollars from Walmart or Best buy or Home Depot. The new normal. I've heard you need to watch your purse in Italian towns. That's what they do. You can tell the story about it when you get back. Who do I think is a threat? Oh, let's see. Right off the bat; middle easterners. I don't like them in general. Geopolitical; not south america in that respect. They aren't going to nuke us. But they are termites. You know what termites do. China and Russia and (I'm running out of countries) might attack and destroy nukewise. I hold no more credence in them attacking us than I did Red Dawn. But socialism Chinese or otherwise is just so murky.

This may or may not have been what RED was getting at, but there are US politicians who openly admire the dictator types running other countries. And those dictators are less about the economic system than they are single party rule. It's always that way.

Why would the US Government teach the military officers how to change our country into a Socialist dictatorship? To me spending tax money to teach the military how to overthrow the Constitution should be a crime.

I hit google and nothing really jumped out at me. So if you want this to go anywhere do people the courtesy of a link. Otherwise it's you in an empty room arguing something that nobody else sees.

As I explained elsewhere my Mac has a problem and I can?t copy and paste? the Command keys are not working and even the Apple Technical Support team and their Screen Share program have so far been unable to fix it. Cut and paste?:

?National Defense University hosts speaker arguing 'democratic socialism'?

That gets me 12+ links when I type it it on Google. Also look for Thomas Piketty.

So the talk came and went.

I recently saw a column criticizing librarians for straying from the classic liberal ideal of allowing a full range of topics to be read and considered. This point gets raised a lot these days, mostly on the right, and with some justification.

Did Piketty change minds? Doubt it. But given that US officers can be expected to see ideas from far flung locations in their service, it makes sense to me to give them a taste of "what is out there" and trust they'll know how to process it.

As for China....by ourselves we don't have enough people. So

                        1) we ought get back to having and keeping friends

                        2) make it a priority to feed and educate our children better.

                        My 2 cents
