Yup. I can more easily believe the Russians lost 4 planes, that one guy shot down four MiG 29s is possible but I'd want at least a name. I understand the Ukrainians have a few fighters left (they started out with a few, so who knows.)

I've heard some outrageous stuff about the Russian Army today on Fox news, that the Army is a conscript army which is false, most Russian soldiers are career men, draftees train for a year and go home until called up, I doubt if many were called up for this. and even more incredibly that they don't have night vision capability, they do and it is very, very good.

I don't know about career men, Art, but at least some of them who cashed out to become mercenaries in Syria went home in a box (or ziplock) instead of an airplane seat. With the lost of no Americans. The Russian reaction was the typical one, to say what a bad thing the Americans had done, but to deny that anything bad had happened to them.

It has been said that nobody is better than Central Command right now when it comes to finding the right mix of ordnance for the mission.

Art? the amount of propaganda emitting from a dozen or more sources is absolutely incredible.

The Ghost Ace is credited with 6 kills.

        2, Su-35
        1. Su-27
        1. Mig-29
        2. Su-25

It doesn?t seem credible unless you are familiar with other Amazing aces that had incredible successes. Randy Cunningham for example was the only US Navy Ace in the Vietnam era.
He was credited with 5 kills. Other fighter pilots at the time had more combat sorties but never saw a single MIG. The Cunningham exploits just doesn?t compute but they actually happened. Go figure.

The mercenaries, or (contractors,) similar to our former guys who worked for Blackwater or GRS weren't fighting the local yokels. They were fighting us. It makes a difference, especially since they didn't know they were fighting us until it was too late.

The Russians were part of "The Wagner Group" a mercenary/contractor whatever you want to call them were supporting a Syrian column in re-inforced battalion strength that included some tanks. Almost all of the bad guys were in fact Syrians. We and the Russians had liason officers in Syria to make absolutely sure there were no unintended contacts. We actually asked the Russians if any of the people in the column were theirs and they said no?!?!? The column was destroyed by Kurds backed US special forces backed up with massive air support after a very sharp fight. Our side had the advantage in that one from the start. Total Russian deaths were not more than 20 by any credible account.

The whole thing was probably the result of a "failure to communicate."
