What then hell are you talking about? Putin started the war with the invasion of Ukraine. Gas and energy prices are up world wide. Sorry you have trouble affording fill ups for your F150 but Biden is backing people fighting for their freedom.

I will back Biden in this action just as I backed Bush in his response to 9/11 even though the WMD proved to be wrong. I am an American whatever the cost and will back the president regardless of the party as he is the face of America in foreign affairs.

Well I didn't back Bush when he went into Iraq post 911. I hoped I was wrong about it because I did get some flak from some friends. Gulf War II was a sideshow that destabilized the whole region and cost hundreds of thousands of lives. Maybe if we had concentrated on Afghanistan we'd have had a better outcome.

I said at the time that they'd better find those WMDs, well they didn't. How much of that was personal between "W" and Saddam Hussein? Of course if he'd tried to kill my daddy I'd have been upset too but as POTUS other things have to override that.

Putin would have invaded The Ukraine any way. I do think Biden's decisions may have encouraged Putin to take the whole boat instead of part of it but who knows? They guy has descended into Loony Tunes Hitler territory of irrationality when it comes to conquest and "living space." The Euros have taken the lead on this, not Biden and good on 'em. Its about time.

The Germans sure seem steamed. As Art says, about time. But..... let's not think for a second that any of those guys step forward without the USA right there.

By going public with an attack forecast, Biden caused the Russians to deny it. Then they went ahead anyways in a monumental "f*ck you" move that left all of those European officials, who had bet on coming to understandings with Putin, very very mad.

Weren't you the same guy who just wondered why they're still allowing sales of Russian petroleum? Too much to ask for you to pick a side and stick with it?

I don't think the USA was "right there."

Cryptic remark. You can clarify or not, as it suits you. But I think the record is clear that the transatlantic allies have been working towards consensus, avoiding bickering. With this bunch, if that happens, usually deft American diplomacy is occurring behind the scenes. 1991 Gulf War runup a good example ...GHWB and his "Rolodex".

Of course Putin gets a lot of credit, but the fact that he pulled the trigger against a united front versus a bickering one should not be discounted. Unless someone is so intensely partisan that they just can't get there.

OK, The Euros suddenly had an epiphany, they realized they could no longer feed the Bear. The Bear is insatiable and who knows who its coming for next. They are face to face with him. When Putin pulled the trigger on this it became apparent that "millions for defense but not one cent for tribute" ( well at least not too many cents) was not just the better option but really the only viable one.

have you noticed that those that screamed loudest about how Trump was gonna cause a big war the US did not need are suddenly flag waving patriots?

                        Lyman

Russia Today, the western propaganda arm of the Kremlin, uses the slogan "Question More".

I doubt you have ever given that slogan a moment's thought, how that came to be the Kremlin's angle. But you live it.

Not for a minute am I going to take a "both sides" approach to Putin, his US allies, and what the Russians are doing in Ukraine in particular or the West in general.

When you say "life is complicated" but are unable to muster an intelligent argument to illustrate this complexity, you are just taking the RT propaganda line that nothing is truly knowable--even the act of reducing Kyiv to rubble is not what it seems!

Perpetually gaslighting and gaslit--a pitiable state for sure.

Did you catch the reports that some Russian troops, captured in Ukraine, still thought they were on Belarusian maneuvers? That sums it up perfectly.
