And he knows it -- which makes him even more dangerous. Every day we delay in delivering the knockout punch puts the world in more danger,

Strange (to me) that Russia would be admitting to this.

After about the 2nd or 3rd day the Ukraine was saying they had killed about 3,000 Russian soldiers. Russia, after several days is claiming < 500 killed. Don't know if Russia is hiding facts, the Ukraine adding to the facts, or both.

If us "non-cyrillics" do it that carries baggage into the future, maybe even leads to nukes. So the question becomes finding out where the line is. The west has made no secret of sending pretty good weapons into the theatre, and acceptance of that much appears to have been baked into the current situation. I read that there was initial hesitation on Stingers, until it was known if the Ukrainians really intended to put up a fight (unlike the Afghan army). Now that this question has been answered, the Ukranians have access to better infantry weapons than their Russian counterparts, which could be interesting.

The Ukranians are also proving adept at their own ways of speaking to their east Slavic cousins about this. For example, letting POWs phone home in sort of "mom you'll never guess where I am...." type calls. Also Zelensky said that the FSB tipped off the Ukrainians to a Chechen assassination squad sent into Kyiv. Whether true or not, it paints a picture for the folks back in Mother Russia, plus makes P wonder about whether or not he has the full support of his machine.

Probably both. On the Ukranian side, they have to account for Enemy casualties -- which is difficult to do adequately.
