Biden says 'We're not subsidizing Putin's war'

Biden says 'We're not subsidizing Putin's war':

'We're not subsidizing Putin's war': Biden says he's hitting the 'main artery of Russia's economy' by banning all energy imports, insists he pumped MORE oil than Trump and says it's time to transition to clean energy

The ban will be levied by the US alone without European Union allies, which rely more on Russian energy
American markets only bought 3.5 percent of their crude oil from Russia last year, with most from Canada

Domestic gas prices have skyrocketed since Russia launched an unprovoked attack on Ukraine in late Feb
But the crisis has still exacerbated US gas prices, which reached a US-wide record average of $4.17 per gallon

The American Auto Association released a series of tips to help Americans 'conserve' fuel on Monday
Meanwhile US officials have been looking at Venezuela and Saudi Arabia as potential sellers to fill the gap
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said going to authoritarian Venezuela for oil is 'the height of insanity'
Democrat Senator Jon Tester said 'We shouldn?t be advancing other countries who don?t share our values'
More than 7 in 10 Americans still say they'd support a ban on Russian oil, a new poll released Tuesday shows
The United Kingdom is expected to levy its own ban on Russian oil, with a ban on its natural gas still in talks

It doesn't seem like our ban of the small amount oil we get from Russian should result in the spike in gasoline we have experienced in a couple of days. Is it gouging by the producers here? I can see where cutting Europe off is more serious. They are the ones held at gun point. The oil is still in Russia. It doesn't go bad and it doesn't evaporate. It inconveniences them some.

No? it is the goal of the Democrats to enslave working people that have drivers licenses and car insurance. If you can?t afford a $100,000 dollar electric car to get to your workplace and get your kids to school you are a slave.

Making gas so expensive, is the only way they can control the population.

Go for it togor and explain why Putin wants to Make America Great Again.

The gouging fuel stations are given a free pass yet again? Making up lost ground for a dip in demand from the work at home crowd.

It's a global problem, not a US one our ruddy friend.

You need me to explain to you why Putin is neither your friend or mine?

You need me to explain that some fights are worth having, and some sacrifices are worth making, that freedom isn't free?

Someone's brain sat too long in Putin's stew pot. There's nothing I can do for you.

doubt it is the gas stations gouging,

if it is anyone making the $$ it's the ones that own the refineries,

gas/fuel , at the store or retail level, is not a big profit item

In 2019 Trump slapped sanctions on Nord Stream 2 and stopped it from being completed. The reason being that the Russians other pipeline was one of the reasons the Russians did not take over all of Ukraine when it annexed the Crimea was because they would have shut down the line and cost Russia billions. One of the very first things Biden did just days after inauguration was to kill Keystone and drop sanctions on Nord Stream. That made it safe for Bidens Good Buddy Putin to invade. That?s what the NSD Party wanted.

The Trump administration fears the Nord Stream 2 project will increase Russia's influence in Europe.

Trump did sign the bill that Congress passed. Why did Congress pass it? Mix of LNG lobbying and anti-Putin/Russia attitudes, but hey two birds. How did T feel about it personally? I have no idea.

Biden did end sanctions as part of a diplomatic reset with Europe. A bad decision IMO but one that was rectified BEFORE Putin started rolling into Ukraine.

Scuse me but Russia aint a European country.

Congress passed it because it was the thing needed to delay WWIII.

Biden tried to make nice with the Euros, particularly Germany, who wanted that pipeline. THAT RESET. As stated, I disagreed with it, but in any case the pipeline is now dead having been built but delivering no gas. Now to slowly rot I suppose. Upkeep is expensive and there's no corporate entity in Europe to foot the bill.
