Kyle Rittenhouse's AR 15 has been destroyed ...

Authorities put it to death. It can't kill any more thugs.
So, let that be a lesson to AR15s everywhere - we won't tolerate
you rifles going around killing criminals.

Rittenhouse wanted it back so HE could have it destroyed. Agreement was struck to let the government do it for him.

Rittenhouse was just a kid. If he wants to move on in life and not have the events of that day define him forever, well good for him.

Kyle was victimized by every talking head including delaware joe who ranted Kyle was a terrorist and racist! The good folks in his jury saw thru all that BS and found him innocent. Why 'they wanted to destroy his AR I have no idea, but people who own them should keep them locked up so they don't get out and shoot someone!

I understand he (Rittenhouse) didn't want the rifle to become some sort of object of veneration and therefore made the decision to have it destroyed. I know a fellow who kept the gun his wife used to commit suicide, he said it wasn't the guns fault. In both cases it was the owners call and I understand both of those views, though they may not have been mine personally. What does irritate me is the strong inference in some of the press that the rifle was destroyed against Rittenhouse's will, sorry folks, it was Rittenhouse's call start to finish.

It doesn't mean Rittenhouse will never own another gun, or another AR platform.

I have, unfortunately,, bought a few Suicide guns, , some thru insurance companies, and the last one from the brother of the guy that did himself in,

odd thing about 'firearms used in history' and esp AR's is that there is a pile of folks that will build clones,
          idf clones,
          blackhawk down era clones

          even JFK carcano clones,

surely someone has bought the same model by now and dressed it up like his
