Three countries. Many like to gripe about the one, but consider the other two.
Russia's economy is being abandoned by the West. The value of savings, the ruble, have taken huge hits. Police goons patrol the street ready to snatch anyone who disagrees with the government. Next door they're locked in a grinding "brother's war" that most Russians don't want but feel they have little power to change.
China has a population that has hardly been touched by COVID, and even one case causes the indefinite lockdown of many thousands. Criticizing the government gets you sent to prison, or worse, reeducation. Movement is monitored. The internet is monitored. The government can change your badge from green to yellow or red and then you cannot travel anywhere.
Don't know about anyone else but warts and all I'm glad to be here in the USA!
