Obama military cuts ended the US ability to fight two wars

    Jack Keane says:

After the Obama administration ended the Pentagon's "two-war" doctrine in 2012, the United States shifted to only likely being capable of battling one major regional conflict, not two simultaneously. A decade later, the U.S. could face the issue of having to choose whether to get involved with a potential war in Ukraine or Taiwan.

It means we can?t do both," senior research fellow for Defense Programs at the Heritage Foundation told Fox News Digital in a phone interview when asked if the U.S. would hypothetically be able to fight in both Ukraine and Taiwan.

Democrats start wars with their military cutting and weakness Just another reason to never have another Democrat President, and just another reason Putin did not want a Republican in the White House.

Putin certainly would not have wanted Romney. 100% agree with you there. But he would have loved a Tucker Carlson-type, on that there can be no doubt.

Defense readiness was a casualty of the increasing costs of the standing army. Some of it goes to Congress too.

    Remember the S-word? "Sequestration"?

The F-35s....ordering less (per the other thread) because the cost of servicing each plane is way higher than projected. But it's not WW2 and industry isn't being forced to deliver at their cost.

BTW, in the excellent video series from the 1970's The World At War, in Episode 7, John Kenneth Galbraith, the New-Deal era economist, talks about how there was concern in the Roosevelt Administration that industry was not going to willingly go over to war production. Different times. Now it's as Eisenhower warned us, industry wants the business, because they have figured out how to make it enormously profitable. The problem though is that the DOD wants more and more expensive systems.

Sequestered a 1985 word that was soon dropped? Does floating a lead balloon mean anything anymore?

Read the links. The law was updated, including during the Obama years. If you don't remember the budget fights back then, including military budgets, that is on you.

Nobody is excusing Obama's misreading of the future. But to put it all on him is a gross distortion.
