Pretty much nails it. At least Obama has the good sense to not try to wedge quotes into the media about how his policies were misunderstood and he really was right all along.

And the article does discuss the twin-tracks of the Trump administration--sober policy decisions and bizarro rhetoric by the President himself.

Quite a bit of backtracking here. For the past 20 years Obama has been treated like the a God and treated like a king that could do no wrong. Anyone who disagreed was a radical right wing nut, a racist, homophobic idiot, and Obama was a Christ reborn.

The truth is he is/was a totally corrupt coward that went to his knees whenever he was in the presence of other world leaders. He promised Putin more cooperation and flexibility after the election. Meaning go ahead and take the Crimea and I will not bitch about it. He also bowed to and kissed the ring of the Saudi ruler.

He cut our military by 20% and promoted CRT and Wokeism in the ranks. Now the world is suffering because instead he also promoted the lie that our number one enemy is CO2 and climate change. Russia and China were gifted and took advantage by Russia annexing the Crimea and China militarizing the South China Sea including a island belonging to the Philippines.

But for sure some people were severely triggered by the fact that he got into the office....TWICE! It shattered their assumptions about this country, that this could happen.

And he did misread Russia and Europe. Obama always reminded me of some Professor types I have known, that if they "see" the right answer in their heads, then that's good enough. If it matches reality or not today isn't all that important. If you have the right ideas, the thinking goes, then it's only a matter of time before you get the results you want. But the messy details matter way more than such types think they do.
