So the 3 summits in one day were Biden's idea. He wanted to make sure that the various groups stay in sync, don't back off on the pressure on Putin. This kind of unity was the last thing that anyone expected, much less that it will hold. But as Biden put it to the reporters, if Putin gets the idea that the alliance will crack in a month, six weeks, two months, then he will ride it out. So...the effort goes into keeping the alliance strong for the duration, so that it's Putin who cracks. Keeping Ukraine in the fight is obviously important, and finding ways to discourage Russian escalations and attacks on civilians as well.
