Biden steps on his wiener again

Within 15 minutes of his speech today the White House was already denying that US was not asking for regime change, here is what he said:

[President Biden on Saturday said that Russian President Vladimir Putin "cannot remain in power," as he declared the Russian invasion of Ukraine a "strategic failure" while pledging continued support for the embattled Ukrainian people.]

If Putin is put in a corner and was looking at a defeat and being overthrown would he end up launching a full blown MAD nuclear attack on NATO and CONUS?

I think the chance is very bothersome.

Maybe his nukes are in the same poor condition and disarray his conventual forces are in but I would not count on that.

None of us was the audience for this speech, and the Euros and Russians listen with different ears than we do. Putin grew accustomed to western praise and here he is getting taken down a peg or two by a US President near the Polish border. Anyone who thinks he likes being talked about this way....guess again.

Not necessarily? both need lots of maintenance. The US is pretty good at that but a dictatorial Socialist country is so corrupt they pay for maintenance but the money winds up in the wallets of the oligarchs and the updates are not done.

The failures of the Ukraine invasion are 1970 tanks vs 2020 anti tank devices.

You are right -- Putin is in great personal danger. If he fails, he will probably be driven out of power and possibly executed. And under those circumstances, he may choose to take everyone with him.

I had a little experience with nuclear weapons aboard the USS Saratoga. They were checked daily. The A-6 squadron practiced loading and unloading the ordinance and it was not unusual to see a dozen tactical nukes sitting on the hanger deck.

I sincerely believe that level of care is/was not followed in Russia.

Even a dud nuke can spread radiation, however.

Would/can Putin launch nukes because he is disappointed? Isn't there someone there who would say no? It can't be an entire country of insane people.

                    true,

the question is, how have the ICBM's been maintained?

will they deliver a payload? or sputter out in the silo?

the Bears will not make it to the US

and not sure how the Sub Fleet is fairing?

[the Bears will not make it to the US]

They don?t have to. They carry nuclear capable cruise missiles (KH-55} that have a range of 1300 miles. But they are old and what shape they are in is a unanswered question.
