    Remember Eisenhower and the U-2?

In 1956 Ike sent U-2s over Russia to investigate their real nuclear force capabilities. They revealed they were no where near what Nikita Khrushchev claimed. Now Russia is touting their advanced jet fighters as being more advanced than the west.

Since the turn of this century, Russia has built about 150 advanced aircraft. The USA has produced 770 F-35s.

Right now Russian military has a lot of troops, more than the US but they have 1,800 military aircraft while the US has 3,300.

What does the Russians have we should be afraid of, 3,000 nukes. They are probably rotting in bunkers but maybe they could set off 100 which is according to the experts, is enough to end civilization.

Actually 200 nuclear bombs were detonated above ground in the USA and our civilization has gone to hell but the fooking bombs had no part in the destruction, but the liberal left do gooders have. Too bad we can not nuke them and and go back to the time when courtesy, respect, and common sense still existed.

I recall that Gary Powers had his arse flamed at 30,000 feet by one of Russia's inferior missiles
and I also recall a Tomcat defeating the much touted F35 that had a multitude of teething troubles.

If it comes to nukes I think we should hit Pyongyang while we're at it. Might as well have some good come out of it.

Shot down at 30,000 feet is NO WAY CORRECT!

How about 70,000. And the F-35 is not dog fighter.

It kills the bad guy 40 miles away.

I stand corrected as to the feet, but the F35 had way too many problems
            for me to idolize it.

Had problems but most have been solved.

I have been negative about the short comings of the F-35. It should have had 2 engines and a crew of 2.

But the mission of the F-35 is to kill the enemy from 30 miles with no merge required.

wasn't the F35 touted to be the F16, Stealth Fighter and Harrier all rolled up in one?

No, the F/35 is not a twist and burn dog fighter. It is designed to kill the enemy 35 miles away. The F-16 is the epitome of a dog fighter.

As has been mentioned it was a lot higher than 30,000 feet. The missile was a SA-75 Davina which is still in use and still shooting down an occassional aircraft in some countries. With typical Russian screw up-ness they also shot down a MiG 17.....ooops. Seems they forgot to re set some IFF systems .
