The Scammers are crawling out of the woodwork ...

Oh goody, a nice war - time to get rich.
Every time there's some kind of crises, be it a tornado or a flood or
best of all, a war, here come the "donate $25 to help a (you name it).
But just like the (Hunter Biden ?) foundation which took in millions for
it's cause but paid out a mere fraction, it probably couldn't pay out
more to the needy because of all those million dollar salaries it takes
to run things. After all, the charity director's relatives need jobs just
    like everybody else.
Personally, I give only to the SA but only in material donations ans
    purchases of same.
It would be nice if there was some kind of watchdog organization that
could ensure honesty in these charities - but who's going to watch the watchdog ?

Pick any charity you like and download their 990 form. They have to list salaries and expenses -- and grants. Take a look at the grants. Charity A receives a dollar donation, takes 15% for overhead and passes the rest as a grant to Charity B, who takes 15% and passes the rest to Charity C and so on. It's like a lump of ice passing from one red-hot hand to another -- when it gets to the final recipient, there' nothing left but a wisp of steam.
