Raiding our strategic oil reserves may not be such a good idea ...

not as though Biden has ever had a good idea, but pulling a
million barrels every day for six months when countries like
China, Russia, Iran and North Korea are shooting ballistic
missiles every which way does not seem to be a good move.
With Biden crippling our domestic production it leaves us pretty
vunerable while relying on very shaky oil sources - potential
enemies who could close the spigot whenever they choose.

Depends. If the problem is traders wanting to hedge against supply uncertainty then selling into the market helps with that. If the problem is there is inadequate supply to meet current demand then it might act as a bridge.

It won't make matters worse and if the government makes some money by buying low and selling high then good for all of us.

Delaware Joe is determined to cause the U.S. people to suffer without adequate oil! Giving our strategic oil reserves to other countries and giving LNG to other countries will put us in a strangle hold! You living up in a very cold Winter climate; tell us how you will heat your home and drive to and from work with prices so high? I have many friends who rely on LPG to heat their homes and to cook with. Their cost for LGN has risen 40% since Joe took office! Can you blame Trump for that? Only a far leftist can!

The reserves built up by Trump who bought the oil when crude was super cheap.

MT why bring Trump into this? Biden does not control the petroleum industry, nor would you want him too. So start talking sense.

We set the thermostat for the LP furnace to 55F. Anything north of that comes from the wood burner. We prepay the LP contract for the season so we don't get caught paying spot price on a February tank refill. A person has to be willing to live with a little cold but they say it's actually healthy for people, and it's not like 72F indoor air is written into the US Constitution, though some act that way. George Washington at Valley Forge for 72F and $1/gallon gas!

US Department of Energy records indicate that there were fewer barrels in the reserve at them end of Trump’s term than at the beginning.

Slow Joe may not control the petroleum industry, BUT he does have control on where our oil goes or doesn't go! Most people don't have the luxury of wood burning stoves and don't want their thermostat set at 55 all winter! Trump had us independent with oil supply!

According to a recent article in Forbes magazine (hardly a bastion of liberal thought), the US is still energy independent. The article does mention that independence during the Trump years was aided by Covid which locked out demand. US oil production was dramatically higher during the first six months of the Biden administration compared to the last six months of the Trump years.
