    Mullah Abbott Sets Up Checkpoints

Someone will say this is necessary for some reason or another. So where's the proof? What bounty of contraband has been seized? What litany of violations can now be read to the public?

    Texas is a whacko state.

Once I flew down there to meet my boss. He was doing some scouting for office space and vendor visits and wanted me to ride shotgun for a couple days. He's from DFW originally, and we're sitting in a parking lot near some office building. The place is mostly empty (tech bust) and we're blocked from leaving by another motorist, doing something in their car, who probably doesn't know we're there behind her. After a few minutes of this, I suggest,

"Maybe a short beep on the horn?"

That led him to explain how in the 80's there were some notorious road rage incidents on Texas highways, so they passed a law to make it easy for anyone to have a gun in the car. You know, for protection.

So what he was telling me is that we had to sit there indefinitely until someone finished their business or noticed us waiting, so as to not risk getting shot at. I just shrugged. He's my boss, and it's his state, not mine. He was proud of it, too. Used to talk about how he needed me to be "one ranger for one riot" and stuff like that.

If Cali is moving to Texas one nutjob at a time, then my guess is they feel right at home straight away.

Maybe he's trying to get someone's attention. If you have a crisis, you have to DO SOMETHING. Jeh Johnson was on tv. Yes, it was FOX. They showed a chart that there are about 8,000 apprehensions a day normaly. When title II goes away there are forty thousand individuals waiting to cross into TX. The shelters are bursting now and they don't know where they are going to put them all. Cry my eyes out. Poland, nice country that it is is taking in Real Refugees not people seeking a better economy for their own benefit. Yes, some get returned. I don't know what those numbers are but I'll bet its in tiny fractions. The Ukrainians are willing to fight and die for their couontry. No one seems to really care that we millions of people here who weren't supposed to be here. And there is no end in sight. It's sort of a battlefield. Even the Mexicans will tell a dumb gringo, you don't wander around south of Baseline rd in south Phx. or anywhere around 29th avenue. There are dangerous mine fields all over west Phoenix. Most folks don't ever say invasion, or even crisis. It's just meh. One of the only good things that came out of covid was that rules were put in place to prevent traffic somewhat. But that's over now and of course we have to abide by our rules so the gate is open again. We are one goofy country in some respects.

You'd know a thing or two about the lack of literacy?

Ray Wylie sings this a little different every time, this one is pretty good.

                I doubt he cares.

But back to the checkpoints--what practical good are they doing?

And if the answer is "sending a message to Washington DC" or something like that, well then yeah, leader of the Texas Taliban.

Because there are lots of tin pot politicians all over the world who dream of sending messages to DC. Those guys come and go and are soon forgotten in most cases.

Mexico lets anything and everything come through. Biden's doesn't have a clue as to what damage he has caused the entire United States by opening up the border, and has put the entire responsibility on Texas. Wonder when Biden's Border Czar will have her plan ready?

Mullah togor says it is OK for millions of illegals to enter the U.S.? And no one should try to stop them? I like what Texas is trying to do, The feds sure as hell ain't helping them with the cost of supporting illegals! I would encourage Abbott to send hundreds of illegals by plane, train and bus. Delaware needs a few thousand there!

Meanwhile, Psaki doubled down on her criticism of another of Abbott’s policies during the press briefing on Wednesday, this time calling the governor’s order to carry out “enhanced safety inspections” of vehicles that pass through ports of entry a “political stunt.”

No kidding Jen? As hard as it is to believe, someone actually did something. She first said that shipping the immigrants to D.C. was a "stunt" too, but now sarcasticaly says, -it is “nice” of the state of Texas to bus illegal immigrants from the border to Washington, D.C., hours after the first bus out of Texas arrived blocks away from the U.S. Capitol building.-

Oh, and Psaki mentioned that, 'we all agree that the immigration system is broken'. That makes it 1,340 times I heard that one.

Mexico is slowly becoming a failed state, where cartels take over regions not just for smuggling routes, but to control agriculture, minerals, etc. And their leftist Trumpian-populist President wants to nationalize the electric power industry, basically make it more Venezuelan. A border wall that long would be an ineffective boondoggle and waste of money. What's needed urgently is to fix the asylum application process.

The problem is that once people place themselves at the mercy of CBP, the human rights lawyers get in there and gum things up. Not that people should be treated bad in US custody, just that there's too damn many to handle in a nice conscientious way that makes the human rights lawyers happy.
