    Lemmings

People are like the proverbial lemmings. They will follow the 'leader over the cliff edge! They are blind as to where they are headed. Sounds like the democratic folks who follow everything the administration says to do! There are lemmings right here at Jouster!

Lemmings? From time to time, possibly true. Usually, not true but merely reflects dissatisfaction with the way things are moving. This applies in all sorts of areas from the step by step process of technology to how business is organized and conducted, etc. It is a common thing for folks to use this metaphor when discussing politics. Sometimes it is apt. Currently, the term and background idea is bandied about by those of hold a variety of social/political views. Used in such discussions viewpoints, the term is usually a effort to deflect and deflate attention and support b/c one finds his/her own perspective challenged or even discounted. JMHO. bruce.

In the metaphor, lemmings are both numerous and unthinking. Who does that describe around here?

If you think 2 of anything is lemmings then you are doing lemmings wrong. The whole point of the metaphor is that there has to be a sh*tload of them. Now....political rallies, lemmings--there, you're onto something!

I agree that lemmings are very numerous and our particular 2 are part of the 60 million lemmings that hate the US and the American dream, they do not believe that a poor kid that grew up in poverty and a broken family, can in fact, persevere by working hard and become educated and successful.

People should not have anything not supplied by the government. You do not need to own a house in order to live, therefore owning a home should not be allowed. You do not need to own a car to get to work you can get on a government bus, subway, bicycle, or a train. No privately owned vehicles needed and since people can exist on a diet of Solyent Green no more silly grocery stores needed. The government is there to protect you, so no guns allowed to be owned the proletariat.

Yes, in your idea of Valhalla, no need to work. Sweeping sidewalks pays the same wage as a heart surgeon. Equal is equal.

                    I cry for you Argentina!

You're just talking nonsense now. Trax still out earning a paycheck while you collect government benefits. You could earn if you wanted to--you just don't feel like it. Heck even Boggs, with all of his health problems, picked up some hours at the gun shop.

It's probably much easier for Red to invent a windmill to fight, than to actually make an effort to understand who he is speaking with. Clearly this forum is a harbor of safety for the evil liberal agenda. :-)

Total nonsense. Trax? what the fook is that?

I never received a single dollar of government money until I got SS. Not one cent of unemployment benefits, welfare or any thing else. It was your loved Socialist FDR that that originated SS. Everybody else receives SS that they paid into for 30+ years. Now you are saying I am a low life because i get the same benefits.

Tell us when you get to 65 how you will refuse SS benefits. And tell us again how Trump colluded with the Russians, or have you forgotten the 10,000 times you repeated those lies.

RED it's not the collecting of government benefits so much as the badmouthing of them while at the same time cashing the checks that makes someone an insufferable hypocrite. All these people living in the world that FDR and LBJ built for their benefit and hating every second of it, apparently.
