    Another triumph

    For SloJoe and his handlers.

ZeroHedge - On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero

Also the currency traders. Let's see how the spin goes to present this as good.

Just as a bonus, talking to the manager at the service station yesterday. A local Dem was heard screaming about 'he's not fit for office and she's worse!'. 'Who did you vote for?'.

You got BDS bad if you're blaming the decisions of European gas traders on Biden

Remember it's supposed to be the looney libs who let their passions disconnect their brains

What of Nord Stream 2? It never came on line. If the argument is, well Biden was soft then, well he sure as hell isn't soft on Russia now, is he? Ya notice they had a "weapons for Ukraine" pledge drive at Ramstein, with defense ministers from 40 countries? Location was no accident--shaming the Germans into getting off their collective Arschens!

The whole rubles for gas thing is a red herring because whether the gas is paid in rubles or paid in Euros that are swapped for rubles afterwards, it's all the same in the end. It's the gas, not the currency, that matters. It's understood that getting the Euros off Ivan's gas is a job that's gonna take time.

It's just impotent propaganda by the Russians who have artificially jacked the exchange rate by restricting the currency. Just like the Soviets did.
The idea is that if they can point to the rosy exchange rate, then hey, sanctions are no big deal. Never mind if ordinary Russians can't buy anything cool with them rubles.

The Euros for gas are saved for foreign purchases. Euros to Rubles gives Ivan a FX bonus. And the desire was to not need Russian gas, relying on the existing (now shuttered) nukes and remaining coal plants. Plus North Sea gas. Don't give your adversary any yardage.

The Poles have had the gas cut off, but guess what, they've been planning for years for this day, if it came a few months sooner than anticipated. Only the Germans seem to have been caught leaning entirely into Russian gas and away from nuclear power.

As one guy put it, Germans and Russians have tried for centuries to get along, then it doesn't work out, and they fight. Maybe we're entering one of those transitions. Hard to say.

My nephew is married to a German woman still very much of the mindset that Germans are best avoiding all wars. She's my canary in the kraut coal mine, so to speak.

But they started two of the biggest not to mention little ones. But if you get your ass kicked twice in a row you might be hesitant to jump right into another that isn't the be all- end all kind of thing you like.
The Germans seem to show some restrain. Not all ra, ra, for something that they might get hurt at.
Folks cut their hair off in sympathy for cancer patients; would it kill them to suffer a tiny little bit in sympathy for Ukraine? Ukrainians are living in basements for months now with no water or heat or whatever. Russia needs to have their oil taken away from them for fifteen minutes.
Oh, and when you start your post with SloJoe or poopypants your kind of tipping your hand. Anyone remember Gahan Wilson of playboy fame. There was a cartoon titled: I think we Won. I used to have it stored but got rid of it a while back. Who knew it would be so fitting now.
