No my dad isn't Biden. He's not old enough. My own pop grew up in the only "Republican house on the block" in his words, and his job had him butting heads daily with the union in a big industrial shop. If he was alive I do wonder what he would think about the party.
My understanding of Republicanism goes back a very long way, because I was one of those kids who asked a lot of questions. The "second-oldest" Republican around here that I can see is Vernon, and his GOP fluency so far as I can tell goes only back to the Gingrich 90's.
A lot of the Democrat hate I see here isn't so much an expression of Conservatism, as I understand it, but more like the way some ex-smokers get when around tobacco.Comment

the democratic party you belong to is not the democratic party of your Father's era, or of your youth,
those 'damn radical hippies' of the 60's are now considered Centrist, and the party took a hard left and accelerated during the Obama years,Comment

Oh the Democrats have problems too.
Interesting thing,
Those hippies, their way of thinking has infected the other side.
Scratch an anti-corporation conspiracy theorist these days and you'll easily find an anti-vaxxer underneath. When the GOP expanded its ranks among the lower ranks of education, it got exactly what anyone would expect.
I see a Democratic party that has gone soft and a GOP that has gone stupid. I say again whichever party fixes its primary flaw sooner wins the future.
Obligatory Democrat slam: they keep trying to recreate the New Deal. But they forgot that to be for the people, you have to be among them. A lot of people have decided that at least where they are, Democrats don't give a sh*t. They just want the power in DC. And that's in part because to be a Democrat from the Midwest, you have to eat sh*t from the coastal urban liberals for whom immigration for example is a non issue, in part because illegals can't afford to live next door to them.Last edited by togor; 05-05-2022, 04:40.Comment

I point out that Soros IS a Nazi. He led his Nazi foster-father to the property Jews had hidden -- and he kept and sold the furniture, which formed the basis of his fortune. When asked on television how he felt about that, he said it made him feel "powerful."Comment

Trump is in the news, no matter how much you try to hide him away with all the other stuff you want hidden. He likes it that way whether you like it or not.
And only certain people buy into the Rothschild trope. Apparently normal enough in your circle.
Never thought I would see it here, that this was that kind of place.
Doesn't have to be.
Why do people believe outlandish lies? ‘Forest fires caused by Jewish space lasers! Covid vaccines a Jewish plot to control the world!’ We take a closer look at antisemitic conspiracy theories, why they are dangerous, and how to refute them.
In reality, the Rothschild banks are not – as has been repeatedly alleged – members of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (the biggest of the Fed’s 12 banks) and nor do those banks which are members “control” the Fed itself.
At the core of this myth is the belief that Jews do not deserve power, regardless of values. It also relies on claims of Jews controlling global affairs.
You gonna triple-down on this????Comment

That's what I thought.
Look, there isn't a guy here who wasn't taught in high school about the use of anti-semetic tropes. "Rothschilds" being foremost among them. Who used them, and what they were all about.
So to pass it along like "something you just heard, could be true, could be not, who knows"?
Yeah....no. it don't work that way.
So we know what you are. Because you told us.
Worst you can call me is a moderate, who isn't hostage to the extremes on either end. Oooh, big deal.Comment
