My concern is the U.S. and NATO are thinking in terms of Sumo wrestling and the Russians are thinking Samurai. Reason being they are in desperate straits and can't rebound if they fail.

I have no idea what that analogy means, but point out that the Japanese had a literal Samurai culture in WW2, got nuked, and still managed to get over it.

I asked because this sort of hand-wringing is a flag for the people who are calculating that if Putin wins and Biden (and by extension the USA) loses, that somehow this is good for them.

The fact that you frame it as Putin v. Biden as opposed to Putin v. the West is another flag that you are looking at this politically.

"Deign" is a fancy word! But there's nothing stopping you from telling us who you're rooting for. You've been asked.
