More Russian officers have been sacked or arrested

Putin's 'purge': Russia's top commander Valery Gerasimov 'is suspended' while a clutch of other generals 'have been sacked or arrested' over Ukraine
    invasion blunders, Kyiv claims

Oleksiy Arestovych, a veteran of military intelligence and top adviser to Zelensky, has claimed that General Valery Gerasimov - chief of staff of the Russian armed forces - has been suspended
He also claimed that Lieutenant General Sergei Kisel has been fired and arrested after retreat from Kharki

Two more Russian army generals and two naval commanders have either been sacked, arrested or investigated over battlefield losses, according to information from Ukraine's interior ministry
If confirmed, it would mark the largest purge of military upper ranks since Putin invaded Ukraine in February

Russia pretends to pay their Generals Generals salaries and the Generals pretend to be Generals.

UK media reporting that there was a traffic jam at a pontoon bridge that was found by Ukrainian artillery, resulting in a battalion-sized fish-in-barrel situation. If true might mean a few more officers get cashiered.

That's too bad because these guys are making a huge contribution to the war effort.

Back in the 90's there was this PC game called "Close Combat". Published by Microsoft. Basically bringing to the computer the old Avalon Hill game "Squad Leader" for those who remember such board games.

Such omniscient view games lost out in popularity to multi-player FPS games, a genre which I personally don't go for, but with the advent of drones I wonder if such games will make a comeback.

Because these battlefield aftermath scenes look eerily like the aftermath of that old game, after the AI tanks had been blown up one by one. That's what jumps out at me--the Russian army seems to maneuver like the crappy AI in a 90's computer game.

So if our gear is dependent on tech savvy troops using digital inputs, is Ivan using their substandard consumer grade hardware/software in their armor/artillery/air power?

Russian tactics are based on brute strength and a willingness to accept casualties. The Russians, for example, attack en echelon, two sub-elements forward and a third following, spread across the whole zone. This is replicated at every level. This disperses the force laterally and in depth, and if the leading units are slowed, the following units catch up and reinforce them. That's also what causes the traffic jams, which can turn into death traps.

It has been noted that Russian tanks are highly vulnerable to catastrophic kills due to ammunition storage. The ammo has to be stored taht way because Russian tanks have automatic loaders -- which are slower and less flexible than loading by muscle power. This has been known for literally a generation or more, but the Russians refuse to go to a 4-man crew.

The Russians like a low silhouette tank -- but the cost is mounting the trunnions low in the turret, so the gun cannot be depressed. This in turn makes fighting from defilade difficult. And that explains why whenever Russian tanks go up against American tanks (as in the Arab-Israeli wars) the Russian tanks come off so badly.
