there seems to be no point as trying to have an intelligent dialog with socialists
is like a Tree discussing conservationism with a Lumberjack.

    Who's a socialist...not me?

Are you a monarchist? Well, yes, you are.

Speaking of trees, DT sees a socialist behind every one.

Monarchist? Well I'm one but then I'm Canadian and Canada is a Monarchy. Elizabeth II is not only the Queen of Great Britain, she is also the Queen of Canada. As to why I'm a monarchist; the answer is simple. The system works and generally works well. Converting to a republic would, in my view, require a total change in the nature of the government and would require a president who inevitably would fight for power against the other elements of government. We have enough problems without complicating things

Yours is a long standing tradition.

Unfortunately there are those in the United States that would prefer to practice fealty to a man, and not the institutions which would guard against such traditions.

Mark if your wingnuts got enough momentum, do you think the queen or her boy are going to really have anything to say about it?

More likely their existence gives enough Canadians a conviction that the winguts must not seize power.

I'm old school...what can I say. Self image doesn't require group participation does it? :-)
