Ironic that this is the one and only COVID public health measure in the country that Republicans support.

What it is is a temporary patch on outdated immigration laws, that basically allow the government to punt these people back to Mexico straight away.

Now what should happen is Congress should get off its butt and rewrite the laws. But because they're not, we have to get by on screwy rulings that may or may not hold up.

Actually Title 42 was put in place to help keep infectious diseases out of America. People (immigrants) were actually screened for diseases back then. Not now! All kinds of sh!t is crossing the border! Illegals don't even have to be jabed, quaranteed or wear a mask!

There are laws on the books for what the US is supposed to do when someone claims asylum. Are you advocating for a government that doesn't follow its own laws?

We are obligated by our laws to consider those who live in the next closest countries asylum if they have reason to flee their countries such as war, nuclear threat, etc., not overpopulation and laziness. We don't HAVE to accept any one, at least not the illegal ones.

Our borders and coastlines are NOT legal points of entry.

Many of those who come from Mexico are not citizens of Mexico. They only come by that path due to Mexico not requiring passports.

It was a gentler time, and airfares were more expensive.

Part of the problem is that the nationalities involved strike a certain nerve in some in a "hey you don't look/act/talk like us " way. Well in terms of immigration to the USA, that's pretty much all that is left.

And believe it or not, zero immigration (just like zero abortions) has problems too.

Yes, in the Old Days the dumb didn't know they were dumb and just sat in the mud. Now, (thanks Starlink) everyone knows where they stand and everyone else stands. So they are "movin on up to the East side". I know a lot people from India are smart and actually have a good sense of humor. I like some of them. But not all 100 billion can come here. Haitians, yeah they are a little homely maybe not so smart either. Immigration is a fine thing, but not invasion.

I saw a picture of a bunch of people (from all over) sitting in the dirt leaning back on The Wall. It's handy that is stopped right there and they just walked around it and it makes a good backrest. It would have made quite the cool photo.
