Refugees get to see more of the world than I have

All kinds of people go to Turkey and then sometimes make their way to France. The French have bulldozed some of their camps. They try to make their way across the channel to the UK. France figures the UK deserves it. Boris and crew ship them to Rwanda. I hope they at least got to try fish and chips once.

I am humorous, but being a refugee isn't fun at all. They are kicked from pillar to post. Some countries are tougher. I hear Romania has No Tolerance.
Maybe that's better; Why let, whatever the cartels are called in Europe, make money shoving people into places they aren't wanted.
You can rebel against eating peas if you want to.
Actually, I'm a little shocked that the UK is sending refugees to Rwanda. For some reason Rwanda is accepting them. Maybe they are going to eat them, I don't know. But Brexit was about not accepting tons of folks from war torn, deserts, who have no education but lots of babies.
Are we this tough? I doubt it. We aren't Europe. That's probably a good thing. Could we send all the Haitians to Puerto Vallarta? I think it would be a tough sell.
But Mexico needs to pay a tax on sending immigrants to our end of the pipeline. That's the way business works. Joe could use the money.

Musk needs Colonists for his Mars adventure.
A one way trip to a Planet where there's no water so nothing grows.
          Best not tell 'em that.

Looming problem in Mexico is that the government is ceding control to the gangs here and there. The gangs have the money. Gringo money from the drug trade. But gringos can't quit their addictions.

Ah the good old days. When I was a kid, friends who partied liked Columbian weed. There was coke back then but now the Columbians don't waste their time on pot. (I guess we fixed that trade imbalance.)

I never liked the sensation of pot, that feeling of being wasted, but I could roll a tight joint pretty much from day 1. So I rolled many for friends even as I stayed away from weed myself after a brief introductory visit.

Good refugees-Vietnamese. Bad refugees-S.o.Bs. (South of the border). First we gave the cartels drugs to move, then slave labor and now terrorists.

Everybody made fun of "Just say No" Nancy but that's the only option. Tell your property manager 'no illegals' and watch what they say.

Remember immigrants, legal or otherwise, improve profits north of the border. Nobody wants to talk about the Red Blooded Americans who come out ahead there.

I expect the country will see internal refugees out of the parched West and the ridiculously hot SW as the water problem worsens.

Started an assignment in Charleston SC Memorial Day, 2001. That summer municipal wells in the Midlands were running dry and water was being trucked in. Lack of planning and obstructionism have exacerbated the problem. For forty years here in CO various groups have stalled attempts to build storage on the Front Range where the demand was predicted and has manifested itself.

Of course my grinding complaint is immigration and not just the 5,000 a week from Mexico. The south west is popular. There are only three states in the country that are losing people. One of them is Illinois and I forget the other two. It seems like the perfect storm. People moving in like crazy and water levels falling, well, like crazy. Phoenix seems to have plenty of water. Everywhere else in the state is in worse shape. Some little towns have put a halt to tapping new construction into the municipal system. They are old and leaky and can’t absorb anymore depletion. Wells are going dry. I’m sure the rich Californians will figure out a way to get Joe pay for improvements.

The whole west expects the Feds to foot the bill for water. Same Feds who they want to get the hell off of all of that government acreage, but never mind.

I live in one of those states that gives more to than it gets from the Federal government.

It is still weather not climate change. While the West is drying up the midwest is being flooded by downpours. It is not a lack of water that is the problem, where it is, is the problem. This has been going on since history has been recorded. Our progressives seem to believe that only man can cause droughts and climate change. The truth is it has been going on forever. 11,000 years ago, a sudden, dramatic cold front came along and lasted the next 100 years. Go ahead and blame that one on hair spray and SUV?s.
