    The Nation weeps AGAIN

The Texas school massacer (wish I had spell check)) with 21 killed!
Of course Joe had a feeble speech about it that soon turned into a rambling dialog about more gun control and of course his poor son BO! He never offered a moment of silence for prayer, just that he "lost sleep for 17 hours" coming back from Japan!
Something MUST be done! More school guards and other resources to protect our children. Taking away guns from law abiding citizens is not the answer! Training teachers to use a gun would help!
What would you suggest? What would you do to actually do hands on to help? If possible I would volunteer thru my local PD to help at schools!

Our communist leaning democrats on this forum would blame Trump!

Thinking back on my school days I can't think of a teacher I had who would be capable of defending the students with a firearm. That, and it is a huge responsibility to put on a teacher. A sad commentary on the disintegration of our society, but it has come to the point where the schools need a Resource Officer or officers on duty at all times. Sad to think that our schools need to be locked down with limited access, but the only way to stop this is to keep the loonies out.

In our area, even as "crime free" as we are, ever since the Parkland experience we've had at least one local cop stationed at the schools all day. Their vehicles are parked in the front to advertise they are in the building somewhere.

I think as a bare minimum the doors should lock from the inside after the kids are all inside and a metal detector used for any one entering like the airports use.

It's a wonder more of this doesn't happen at football games where security is way more lax and difficult.

Looking at the pictures, it appears that most everyone including the shooter, migrated from our Southern border at some time. A safety topic of it's own.

If you'll notice, the picture of the lone "white girl" victim, is enlarged 4 times over the others in an order to offset the balance. Reminds me of the Alamo.

It's Texas. They don't need or want any help or advice on such things.

I don't have a problem with Biden grieving over it. It is a horrific act to most sensibilities. But...it's Texas....which means it might as well be Afghanistan for all the Federal Government has to do with it. Unless and until the Texas delegation in Congress asks for Federal help, which they most certainly will not.

The gun was legally purchased in Texas. The kid's life went to hell growing up....in Texas.

If we were to complete a big wall at our border I've always said it should run from San Diego to Orlando. Just start over. We don't really want all that swamp land in Louisiana either do we?

Got a feeling those kids ancestors been around there for a long time before there was a Texas.

Police chased the killer from San Antonio and he what? just ended up at the school and broke in? Drove there intentionally? Not sure the school was his target or was it?

If our laws were actually enforced no wall would be needed. No one would want to enter the U.S. illegally.

Instead, biden invites them for their votes.

Perhaps a few of them? We've had wars with Mexico over territory. Guess who won?

Drugs and mental health are coming back to haunt us we only need to look at ourselves to see what is needed .

Connecting mental health and regulatory agencies will run afoul of HIPAA information problems really quickly. That could open a Pandora's Box that has huge implications .

Maybe this brick to the side of your head will do it. Probably not.

THE ASYLUM LAW, AS WRITTEN, ALLOWS SOMEONE TO SURRENDER AT A PORT OF ENTRY, REQUEST ASYLUM. THEIR CASE IS FILED, AND THEY ARE ALLOWED TO RESIDE IN THE COUNTRY (IN NON-COVID TIMES) WHILE WAITING FOR PROCESSING. THE BACKLOG, BECAUSE OF CONGRESSIONAL INACTION, IS YEARS. DURING THOSE YEARS, PEOPLE SORT OF DISAPPEAR INTO THE INTERIOR. ONLY CONGRESSIONAL ACTION CAN FIX THIS, UNLESS YOU WANT A GOVERNMENT THAT JUST MAKES IT UP AS IT GOES ALONG.

A wall does nothing to stop this.

Hundreds if not thousands of evil doers have entered the country at Biden's invitation.
They're here to cause trouble in one way or another. I have a bad feeling that arsonists
are among that group of illegals as several have already been arrested for setting fires,

Yeah, but it makes Gunstroke Allen feel better to point out someone tans better than him.
