    Meanwhile In Michigan....

A bunch of GOP candidates for Governor have been dropped from the ballot because after tossing out all of the fraudulent signatures on candidacy petitions, they didn't meet the minimum threshold to qualify.

Michigan as we know is one of those states where the Trump party was all bent out of shape about the other side supposedly cheating, without ever submitting credible proof.

Is it too much to ask for the GOP to purge these sh*theads and go back to being a normal, responsible party again?

I thought Dems (like you) frowned on purging Voter Roles

      Read the link.

These candidates hire people to go get signatures. Those people end up just filling out the petitions themselves, completely half-assing it. But the fact that the would-be candidate wasn't aware of this doesn't mean they get a pass. Nor does it speak well of their fitness for the office, if they can't even organize a petition drive to get their own name on the ballot.

This is not a voter roll thing and I don't know how you came to that conclusion in the first place.

And by purge I don't mean from the voter rolls but from the party establishment. The sh*theads can still show up on election day if they want. But how about the GOP starts being a normal party again.

So what you are saying is, that if some one steals your gun or steals your car and they kill someone with it, you're at fault?

          Short answer: no--completely different subjects.

If the law requires say 20,000 signatures to get a candidate on the ballot, and a candidate submits 25,000 signatures, of which 10,000 are real and 15,000 are obvious fakes, should that candidate get on the ballot? The spirit of the thing says "hell no--20,000 signatures means 20,000 residents."

I doubt there is criminal fraud penalties in the statute. But the signatures should be real. Doubt you disagree. And as always, ignorance of a law is no excuse.

As for stolen property--always a good CYA move to report thefts of firearms to law enforcement. Just in case. Your home state of Illinois resists making that a legal requirement. Just think if they did....these suburban straw buyers who "lose" or have their firearms"stolen" but never report these losses to law enforcement would stick out like sore thumbs.

This is a problem everywhere people can be paid per vote for these petitions. If only volunteers were allowed the problem would be less but as long as the world's second oldest profession has a heartbeat it'll be around

Democrats are famous for illegal for illegal write-in votes and 'dead' people voting! Been that way for years! A couple years ago, my deceased dog got a mail=in vote! Where they got his full name is a mystery!

Why did you register your dog?

An ongoing mess that no one is addressing near enough. Penalties for voting fraud should be very severe as election results can affect the security and stability of a country. Just look around.

As said before if people had only one SS number and voted with it, if only legal citizens had SS numbers much of this mess would clear up. It would also reveal some SS fraud where people are still receiving SS payments of deceased relatives. Photo ID should match SS info when voting.

But if things were done so simple, so fairly, taliban joe poopie pants along with his son, would be fighting to stay out of jail instead of being a squatter in our WH.
