Our Democracy at work. Dems to tax AR-15 rifles 1,000%

Lets just say a AR only costs $500, and 1,000% tax would be $5,000. The magic of this bill would be how it could become law without a single Republican vote. If it applies (like the NFA tax) to the 22,000,000 AR?s already owned, it would be $110,000,000,000. That?s a lot of money but I wonder how it would really work. Most likely it would take years and a army of a million BATF agents and US Marshalls going door to door searching every home in the former USA without warrants.

The National Socialist Democrats will guarantee that there will never, ever be another mass murder in the US if we will just pass this bill.

If the tax is retroactive, then I bought all mine off of a bereaved widow for $10 each. I felt a little bad at the time but she said she was just glad to get them out of the house.

Allegedly it would only apply to new purchases or transfers. I'm sure his lips were moving.

All taxes have to start in the House. Then, the Senate must agree. Only then can the old man in the white house rocking chair pull out his crayons and make his mark. Sincerely. bruce.

Didn't they try that tactic on ammo ?
You can't use tax as a weapon. Ain't gonna happen.

              RED,

I read togor's post as a joke,,, but not 1% sure since his humor is iffy,

re the VFW comments you mentioned, my Brother from another Mother joined his local VFW when he returned from one of his sandbox tours,
he came by my shop one day, grabbed all the gages he did not already have, and went thru the guns,
made a list, and what they could not order in parts from the Army , he got from my shop inventory of Garand parts,

gaged, rebuilt as needed, greased and put back in the locker,

Do you own an AR, RED?

Answer: My first Black Rifle was a H&R M16-A2 NFA registered fully auto rifle. I paid $1,200 for it in 1989 purchased from John Ross in St. Louis.

I had a FFL for 12 years and sold several (10+) slick non forward assisted models a gunsmith put together for me.

My son and I took the M-16 to Knob Creek 4 years in a row.

I transferred ownership to him in 2005 and he sold it in 2011 for $22,000.

Today, I own only 1 AR lower with 2 uppers. 1 is a .22LR with 5 mags, the other upper is a 5.56 caliber. I have 10 Vietnam era 20 round Colt mags in original packaging.

I do not know how many total firearms I own but M-1 and M1A rifles are in the lot.

This is a honest and open reply to your question. Why do you never be honest and open?

You are a liberal Socialist and there has never been a honest one of them.

A joke for a joke of a legislative proposal.

Laws that turn a whole host of honest people into tax cheats and/or criminals are bad for everybody.

If a person steps back these days and looks at the big pictures, all of these big fights are one big group of people trying to take away rights from another big group of people. Everybody is in a fighting mood, and guess what? Media cheerleaders, safe on the sidelines, get rich off of it.

                    didja hit your head?

same same happened in 1934,, people got worked up in a frenzy over gangsters,
1968, people got worked up in a frenzy due to 2 kennedy's and MLK getting shot, (it could be argued that the wrong Kennedy was shot)

and again in 1986, but that bill (argubly) did a lot of good in some areas,,,

                      It's a utopia thing.

Joe doesn't want Mary's mail in votes and abortions in his utopia. Mary doesn't want Joe's guns in hers.

But who is it that is egging Joe and Mary on, and why?

No lie there are real issues at stake. But so much the better for the opportunists.

                      Solution will be DURABLE compromises.

The 1934 law was passed without anyone opposing it as being against the 2nd Amendment. In fact the NRA of the time testified in Congress in favor of passage.

Later when the law was challenged in U.S. vs Miller, there was no one representing Miller and the SCOTUS only heard one sides argument.

The huge question is can the Government tax guns. I have always wondered why if the left is truly against guns and the Constitution, they have not taxed them out of existence. I think the answer is because they know that if that taxing question is ever really tested by a impartial SCOTUS it would be thrown out and the 1934 law along with it.

BTW Who in the heck is Mary? I know who Jill is, and Nancy, and Neilia, and Alexandria, and Debbie from Dallas, but the only Mary I have heard of lately is in a book that was written a long time ago.
