If guns are so evil, why are they selling like hotcakes ? ...

The answer is obvious: we're all evil. That must be it.
After Poopy's diatribe on how evil those big bad black ARs
are, it's really surprising that people have rushed to their
local gun store to buy one. Now why would they do that ?
Don't tell me they don't trust Poopy.

Because a ton of people at least want the option of owning one.

That doesn't mean they're going to be proficient, responsible owners. There are in fact a lot of gun ignoramuses out there, on their own after the purchase.

But if a life has possible danger in it, access to weaponry is human instinct. This is a point the banners don't want to acknowledge because it tears a hole in their socially-engineered fantasy. Just as they can't admit that a lot of Senators come from states where a perfect police response isn't 5 minutes away, and a DIY approach to personal protection makes a ton of sense.

Ditto any POTUS, and for that matter the SCOTUS justices don't worry about guns threatening them because they have primo security that schoolkids can't get.
