Excellent analysis from "The Guardian," one of the most left wing Com-symp organs in the country. Sirota misses on some things, the real causes for the slip in Latino support for the left for one, but not many. It also includes a scathing indictment of Joe Biden who he looks on as a symptom of the problem.
Why the Dems are Dead in the Water

They were dead in the water last election too except for the 3 dozen supporters that attended all of bidens rally's. I mean, who in their right mind would have voted for someone who was known to be brain dead and done nothing but suck on the taxpayer's tit for the previous 47 years vs Trump who was bringing America out of the obama, bush and clinton ashes?
Future "wins" for the dimorats will depend upon how much fraud, how much cover up, how many obama appointed judges block and rule, how much media brainwashing takes place, sudden health emergencies that allow mail in voting (but this takes us back to how much fraud), and basically how much they can simply get away with.
There will be no more fair elections until voters are checked for ID and vote in person thanks to the democrats. -
That?s how democracy is supposed to work: we?re supposed to evaluate representatives not on their personalities or party affiliations, but on their records
Sirota seems to have forgotten "A Trailer Park called Camelot" foisted on America with their media doppelgangers. In '93 there was an article 'have the Dems lost the white vote?'. For several election cycles the Dems have been in denial their policies don't sell. He refers to D.C.'s tax code driven destruction of our manufacturing economy and then ignores the refusal to carry on Trump's 'bring back the jobs' tack. By a large margin the top ten percent vote and donate blue.
So how have they tried to win back the Hearts and Minds? Mailing ballots to every cemetery, PMB and vacant lot. Oppose voter id, promote Motor Voter while giving illegals driver's licenses. Institute open primaries and ranked voting. Cuddle up to the techies assault on 1A and free speech.
Thanks for posting that Art.Last edited by barretcreek; 07-04-2022, 08:23.Comment

Art now you got Allen going on the idea that Trump didn't lose the last election fair and square.
I think the country as a whole is fragmented, and that gets reflected in the coalitions that make up the political parties. But no doubt there are people looking to create disunity, to carve off a slice of public opinion as theirs to profit from.
I've seen a bunch of articles like this over the years. Lefties staying up nights hatching theories about how wonderful things will be when folks come to their senses. They criticize Democrats for not being left enough. It has been pointed out to the lefties that if they had turned out for Hillary in '16, how different things would be now with SCOTUS.
And remember that the writer for sure isn't endorsing the politics that Art favors. Or the batsh*t crazy stuff that other guys here go for.Comment

Gunsmoke/Allen/??? Did you ever attend a Trump rally in person?"The first gun that was fired at Fort Sumter sounded the death-knell of slavery. They who fired it were the greatest practical abolitionists this nation has produced." ~BG D. UllmanComment

The far left has this idea that the future belongs to them, if only the people will come to their senses. Never mind that there is plenty of evidence to the contrary.
The far right by contrast doesn't expect their ideas would win a popularity contest anytime soon. But that doesn't deter them from trying to bend things to their own way.
Both have anti-democratic streaks to them. Neither IMO should be entrusted with political power.Comment
