Russia's war on Ukraine: 5 reasons why Putin won't stop

Trajectory of Russia's war on Ukraine has proven difficult to predict

The U.S. and the West are amping up security aid to Ukraine with high hopes they can turn the tide back in its favor and force Russian President Vladimir Putin to halt his brutal assault. But, he won?t. Here are five reasons why.

Putin believes he's forced a tipping point on the ground in Ukraine, that economic sanctions have backfired, and that war fatigue and "energy attacks" will weaken the West's resolve.

Sobering for those who think there was a magic phrase or something that could have stopped this.

But no lie the burn rate for Russia is real. Costs can be ignored for awhile, but eventually the bill comes due.

The way to stop it was NOT to telegraph incompetence by giving hundreds of thousands of M16, MRAPs, helicopters and so on to the Taliban, and NOT to have said a "minor incursion" would be acceptable to the US.

Why do you repeat lies, so you believe them too?

An old habit I imagine from his days as a political candidate.

I respect he's seen his country do it more than once. And by it, I mean waste men and material on a lost political cause in a foreign nation.
