People don't make big moves to do anything if they don't have to. The general public is concerned about paying the rent, putting some sort of food on the table, ect. The Brits don't have gun magazines(real paper) on the shelves persuading kids to go get an AR and put a bunch of stuff on it. Dress up in camo and go kill a bunch of people because mom wouldn't let them have the car. We don't either nowadays because it's really not tasteful. But we did. Like a lot of things, if guns went away maybe in a hundred years we'd get over it too. Would I or you NOT live in a country that didn't allow guns? The Brits aren't anti gun we are certainly pro gun. And definitely pro argument. If the Japanese could carry maybe someone could have saved Abe's life.

when did the magazines (paper) go under in the UK or in Japan?

I know a guy that worked in the AR or NG, cannot remember which, who did a lot of publications for the Service,

he had a side gig posting articles in Japanese and UK Gun mags, since we can have stuff they do not, and cannot,

good side gig, esp since he knew a lot of dealers/SOT's
he provided the range time, ammo, and whatever clothing or uniform he needed, and would ask the dealers to provide the people,

my Brother, Father, some other dealer friend, and myself have been photographed for his articles, in various outfits,

I did some 'hand model' work form him as well, as in I took the gun apart and pointed to the various bits as he photographed them,


as far as the UK. they do have many restrictions, but Creedmore is till a thing, as well as other comps,
so there is still a gun culture,

in some ways they have a few less restrictive rules than we do, (silencers for example)

and lets not forget Beretta , H&H and one or 2 more still have showrooms and offices in London

How is this hard for you?

On the balance, judging from their gun laws, they *are* anti-gun. Not all of them, but enough so that the laws are what they are. There are 67 million on the island. It should go without saying that some like guns....a lot!

But not enough to change the laws. And that London-based copywriter in the OP link, very safe bet that they were anti-gun.

I mean, just wacky to suggest that British gun laws are:

1) liberal with respect to available firearms to ordinary people

2) headed for change anytime soon.
