Actually they don't care about mothers at all, especially poor ones, and minorities, if adoption isn't in the works. The stats speak for themselves. You got pregnant? Don't want it? Too bad it's your own damn fault. But we might want the baby. But if you ain't gonna give us the baby then good luck you're on your own if there are complications, and with raising it.

Blame God while you're at it. The spontaneous miscarriage rate is on a par with the medical abortion rate. So every pregnancy that does not culminate in a live birth must be investigated by the authorities. And naturally you see nothing wrong there, no element of "Big Brother" in all this.

In the days of real conservatism in this country, not the reactionary version popular these days, it was a no-brainer to respect God's role in this, and not try to wedge the state intrusively into the middle. God didn't (and I'll argue still doesn't) need the help.

Babies are puppies. Suck it up cupcake. Do we drain the bank a count to keep puppies alive, or move on. Who gets emotional about the pups? Children. Give them a little talk and move forward. We all get that moment and then move on. You know, about 13 yrs. old.
