This is the classic problem that migration on a large scale presents. This is the west. I was raised on John Wayne. Who doesn't like a tough sheriff. The Californiators voted him out. I will never say Californiators again, I promise. Texas is no worse than any other part of the southwest I suppose. But it's depressing to see what a fakey attempt is made anymore to protect our border. It's over.
