Never watched him or read him but I've noticed that any headline forecasting the
end of the world or how Biden is planning to put us in gas chambers if we don't
buy an electric car is invariably one of his stories.
Are his stories to be taken seriously or with a pinch of salt ?

Schiff at least tries to ground his arguments in rationality. Not that one has to agree with his line of argument or conclusions or anything to acknowledge that point. It's just saying that he tries to work with objective facts and evidence to reach conclusions. (And at this point if someone says "no he doesn't", well need to see the link demonstrating that--can't just be feelings on the subject).

But yeah to some, rationality itself is the true enemy, so having established that Jones is a nutjob, what kind of false equivalencies can we try to set up there?
