There's No Used Car Market for electric cars ...

I just bought a new battery for my old Truck. It cost $140.
New battery for electric car, $14,000.

And you live in Cali, which is crawling with Teslas. You have but to look.

We all saw this coming. Something else to resolve, just like the lack of charging stations.

Talk to a Tesla owner about the rate at which new stations are going in, then get back to us.

It's a lot easier to install a charging station than a gas station. No underground tanks to bury, for one thing.

According to a post on chevybolt.org, a dealership quoted a Chevy Bolt owner in November 2018 $16,250 for a battery replacement, with $870 for labor. Given that Chevy Bolt batteries are rated at 60 kWh, that equates to approximately $271/kWh, about 68% higher than the 2019 average price.Apr 11, 2022.

I bought a battery powered lawn mower and weed eater in 2019 from Lowes. The 2 cost $500+. Within 2 months the mower would die within 15 minutes so I took it back to Lowes and they told me it needed a new battery? BUT there were none available and they put me on the waiting list. Now the warranty has expired.I put them on the curb with a sign FREE/NEEDS BATTERY. Even the local junk dealer will not take them for free.

I bought a used gas mower for $35 at a yard sale, used it 3 seasons and if anybody here is interested in a good condition green mower and weed eater, pay the shipping and the $500 combo is yours for free!

Yep, see them greenies, aint they great, little pieces of green and a whole lot of cheat.

When they say green they are referring to cost, as in dollar bills flying out the window.

Electric has it's place, where the grid and distances involved make it feasible

go over to you tube and search Hoonigans, Ken Block's group, and watch some of the This Vs That vids,
a hot rod tesla will smoke just about anything in the 1/4 mile

however I read something the other day about the EV Truck industry struggling, load vs range sucks apparently

RED,, were you in the Battery Biz at one time?

I worked for a while with a guy that found out you can buy a used Prius fairly cheap in the batteries were toast,
thing is, Toyota wants to put a new pack in, this guy found out you can buy cell replacements,
so you test the battery pack, replace the cells that are dead, and keep on keeping on for much less $$$

Yes I was a salesman for a small lead acid battery manufacturer in Iowa. My territory was all of MO, and small areas of IA, IL and KS. The company was bought out in 2005 by DEKA.

Then I managed a lead acid battery recycling company that sold junk batteries to secondary smelters and to China. We averaged shipping 60 tons of recyclable batteries a week for almost 2 years.

Lead acid batteries are by far the most recycled product in the world. 96% of them are recycled.

Tesla is having production problems from lack of parts, made where? China. Cheap, but unreliable source.
