All this horse chit is happening right here in America , and we're all to blame . We're kidding ourselves about less gun crime in places that have more lenient gun laws

I love my guns .... but truth is truth ... whether I like it or not
so how would you fix it?

And do you really think you understand Wisconsin better than me???

      I'll give you an example:

City to Legislature: we'd like to put more cops on the street. Real cops, not the feel-good social workers.

Legislature to City: Drop dead, any money is for tax cuts.

Blame whomever makes you feel the best. I don't care. But I know that the WI legislature thinks like you do, that the City of Milwaukee somehow isn't part of Wisconsin, and the legislature has no obligation to do right by the city.

thinks like I do,, amazing you are so clairvoyant,

and it seems your City of Milwaukee is about to host the GOP convention in 2024

I guess you really know that city like you know everything else,

Hey sandpebble, you are back with pushing your liberal disinformation in trying to make the a Repub city in FL as having one of the highest crime rates, You need to go back to my first post of the big cities with the highest crime rates.

A large percent of the crime in ft Myers is caused by a large amount of young people during the winter season and also when colleges are out and not by full time citizens.

A really poor representative for a crime rate where as most cities are not so impacted by the same! And it's still not the highest!

Yes a supreme irony that the National GOP is descending on Milwaukee. Although possibly a pragmatic move by the city fathers to try to mend fences with the GOP state legislature.

Funny thing Lyman, you can know VA better than me, but chafe at the thought that I might know WI better than you. Speaks to a grudging attitude on your part--can't let anyone one-up you in anything.

What most people don't realize is that SE WI is one of the most segregated places in the country. In my lifetime, there was a huge out-migration from Milwaukee County to what is called the "WOW" (Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington) counties. The differences with Milwaukee County are so stark that they even got their own Wikipedia page.

The legislature does not look for votes out of Milwaukee County, and given the hyper-partisan characteristic of WI state politics, there is no political upside for GOP legislators doing anything that helps Milwaukee, and might make the city (and its Democratic leadership by extension) look better in the public eye.

To anyone who lives here, of either political stripe, this is plainly obvious. Nonetheless you will lecture me about how I don't know what is going on in a state that I live in, and you have visited how many times in your lifetime? Possibly zero?

Question for Ray: How many man-years of policing does $1M buy these days? I ask because the GOP legislature is already north of that amount with no end in sight, rehashing the 2020 election. When I say these are some of the most cognitively-challenged politicians in the country (in any group, somebody has to earn that distinction), I speak with plenty of evidence to work with.

I don't see a whole lot new on the list except maybe Atlanta and a couple of others. The top four have been cesspools of crime and corruption for at least 50 years.
