    The mayor is making a collosal mistake in my opinion. Imagine if de Blasio had such a policy. The press and activists would be going nuts. As it is, NYC has a bunch of vacancies and a sclerotic hiring practice. Maybe being a former police captain is not the best training to be mayor of the country's largest city?
