    Mars candy Co.

Is now making my favorite candy bars in China (Snickers, Three Muskateer, etc! I won't buy them anymore! I'll satisfy my sweet tooth with another product!

If we refuse to use or buy things made in China then don't get sick, and don't watch TV.
There's so much stuff made there, galvanized pipe, PVC, pencils, rubber bands - you name it.
It's unbelievable but sadly true. Our leaders have sold out our manufacturers.

Labor unions here are to blame also plus us, the consumers, wanting everything cheap, cheap, cheap. That can change though. It needs to change. China needs to become the red headed step child of the world instead of a world leader in cheap manufacturing.

The West has voluntarily de-industrialized on the assumption that if we stick to service industries and keep the intellectual property here, then all will be well. From a strategic perspective, that is idiocy of the first order. You can't blame the current leaders either since this has been going on for about 30 years and there is enough blame for everybody. You just have to look at what's happening in Europe with respect to Russian natural gas to see the dangers of depending on untrustworthy regimes

Much of this deindustrializtion has come about through government interference with the economy -- everything from raising the minimum wage to taxes, to price controls. We have met the enemy and he is us.

Ford motor co. laid off 6000 workers! They plan to build all electric cars in Mexico! Those cars will be powered by lithium batteries made in China! Go figure!
